Start with the scope, not only the headline price
A small brochure website typically has a home page, relevant service information, contact details and a clear way to enquire. More content, custom functionality and integrations naturally require more planning and work.
Our website packages advertise a starting price of £199 on eligible starter projects. That is an entry-level offer, not a price for every website. Always ask which pages, design revisions, content tasks and integrations are included before agreeing to a quote.
What changes the price?
The number and complexity of pages matter. A homepage and contact page take less content preparation than a site with distinct service, area, industry and resource pages.
Design requirements also vary. A practical template-based build may suit a new business, while a custom visual system, accessibility review, complex animations or individual integrations require more work.
Ecommerce features add product data, shipping, taxes, payment gateway setup and ongoing operational decisions. Compare these separately from a basic business website.
Questions about running costs
Check whether domain registration, hosting and an SSL certificate are included, how long they are covered and what happens at renewal. A first-year inclusion does not automatically mean lifetime free hosting.
Ask who owns the domain and website, whether you can update the content, what technical support is provided, and whether any plugin or software subscriptions are required. Put these details in the project agreement.
How to compare two website quotes
Request a written scope from each provider. Compare pages, content, revision rounds, delivery milestones, forms, technical SEO fundamentals, handover and renewal terms. Make sure the quotation identifies work that is outside the price.
